What this visa is
A new visa introduced in June 2024, allowing people with a vocational or academic qualification to enter Germany for up to one year to search for full time work in their profession.
Who it is for
- ✓Those with a completed academic or professional/vocational qualification of at least 2 years, recognised in the country where it was obtained (if you are unsure whether yours qualifies, we will help you confirm)
- ✓Those who can demonstrate financial self-sufficiency via a blocked account, a declaration of commitment, or a work contract
- ✓Applicants must demonstrate either German at A1 level or English at B2 level
- ✓If your vocational qualification is not yet fully recognised in Germany, you can still qualify via a points system — earning a minimum of 6 points based on work experience, language skills, age, and ties to Germany

- →Valid for up to 12 months, extendable by 6 months if job search is ongoing
- →Permits part-time work of up to 20 hours per week while job hunting
- →Can be converted into a work residence permit once employment is secured
